In july of 2023, protesters in philadelphia rallied against housing injustice.
The streets near city hall were blocked off as activists demanded affordable housing for all. Advocates called for banks, and local government to fix the housing crisis they created.
These are the images I Grabbed as I followed the rally.
The protest came shortly after the third eviction-related shooting in Philadelphia over the previous four months. Organizers called out the federal government’s lack of investment in green social housing to combat the climate-induced housing crisis. Tenants recited horror stories amongst each other about living conditions, high rent prices, and lack of overall rights.
